Under its flagship Expand Programme, Almawakening Foundation, in collaboration with Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, successfully distributed 26 AI-enabled Smart Vision Glasses to individuals with visual impairments. This initiative represents a significant step toward creating a more accessible and inclusive society by harnessing the power of assistive technology to promote independence and confidence.

Designed to support everyday navigation and communication, the Smart Vision Glasses offer a range of advanced features that help users interact with the world more effectively. The devices provide real-time navigation assistance, text-to-speech functionality, object and facial recognition, currency identification, voice-command support, environmental awareness, communication assistance, and emergency SOS capabilities. These tools empower beneficiaries to perform daily activities with greater ease while reducing reliance on others.

To ensure meaningful adoption of the technology, the programme included live demonstrations, personalized onboarding, hands-on training sessions, and beneficiary interactions. Participants were guided on how to use the glasses effectively in real-life situations, enabling them to maximize the benefits of the device and integrate it into their daily routines.
